SISTERS is a celebration of the women who became a source of colour,
counsel and refuge during one of the more difficult seasons of my life.
Each flower adorning the woman’s head represents a sister in my life- a
woman who, in her own way, offered advice, humour, perspective,
encouragement and the kind of support that helped me keep moving
forward.
Their advice was not always easy to accept, and I did not always follow it.
There were moments when their perspectives conflicted with my own
sense of who I was or who I wanted to become. Yet, even when I chose
differently, there was comfort in knowing that their intentions came from
a place of genuine love and a desire to see me thrive.
The flowers are intentionally different, reflecting the distinct
personalities, approaches and perspectives each woman brought into
my life. Together, they create something more beautiful than any single
flower could create alone. The vibrant colours speak to the way these
relationships introduced joy, humour and variety into a period that could
otherwise have felt overwhelmingly difficult.
At its heart, SISTERS is about the quiet reassurance of knowing that you
are not navigating life alone. Sometimes support looks like advice;
sometimes it is a joke at exactly the right moment; sometimes it is simply
knowing that someone is in your corner. The woman rests beneath this
abundance of flowers, surrounded by the many voices and personalities
that helped her find moments of peace amid difficulty.
